Hi, I’m Jeff. I’m a gadget fan who happens to appreciate rechargeable batteries because they save money and they save the environment. I bought my Powerex MH-C808m in 2008 and have been using it regularly ever since.  I’ve saved hundreds of dollars over buying new batteries (three teens). I’ve found the Maha can recover batteries that other chargers could not. It’s an excellent unit. Costs a bit more than the budget unit at the local Radio Shack, and very worth it. No surprise there for anyone who appreciates value.

It’s got a deep recycle charge mde that actually drains and then fills batteries. This is great fo bring back from the dead those older batteries that have built up a memory. It has a “soft” mode that is gentle on the batteries, while bring them up to full charge. You can turn that off to increase the charging speed when you need – but I leave it on normally.

maha AboutAnother feature I love is that you can mix and match the batteries being charged. I can have D, C, AA and AAA batteries in the recharging cells at the same time and the Maha handles them all. The only guideline is that you are supposed to put the biggest batter in the left-most slot.

The display gives you a good idea of the recharging progress, so you know what is going on.

I also appreciate the design of the charging slots. I’ve had several other chargers that don’t work as well. Contacts broke or were hard to work on others. Not so here.

Bottom line: This is a quality piece of hardware available for a reasonable price on either Amazon or eBay that saves you money over the long run.
